After finishing his studies at the Faculty of Law of Comenius University in Bratislava, he was awarded a Doctor of Laws degree in 1978.

In the years 1973 – 1976 he worked as a candidate attorney and in 1977 was admitted to practice as an attorney with the Regional Association of Attorneys in Bratislava.

In 1990 he participated in the drafting of the new Act on Advocacy.

Dr Udvaros is one of the founding partners of the former DETVAI LUDIK MALÝ UDVAROS. He has extensive experience in advising international clients in the area of commercial law, labour law and real estate law.

The main specialization of his work lies in transport, including claims for damages suffered in transport, trademark law, as well as cross-border debt recovery. He also represents clients in court proceedings/arbitration proceedings, including bankruptcy. He has long term extensive experience in advising EU based insurance companies in protecting their rights in Slovakia.

He is currently a member of the Slovak Bar Association and of the European Association of Attorneys DACH. From 1992 to 2010 he was a member of the auditing committee of the Slovak Bar Association. Within the Slovak Bar Association he is dedicated to international cooperation between national bar associations.

Peter Udvaros

Partner

Peter completed his law studies at the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague and gained experience in international and leading domestic law offices in Prague. Since 2005, he has been registered with the Slovak Bar Association.

Peter has extensive experience in civil law, corporate law, labour law and property law.

He worked inter alia on the privatization of one of the largest banks in the Czech Republic, including its Slovak branch, and managed the receivables of a leading global investment bank. He has advised foreign clients in property acquisitions involving the likes of shopping centers, office premises and residential buildings.

Peter provides legal advice to clients in respect of shared services, including the preparation of the legal framework for the execution of clients’ plans for entry to the Slovak market and takes care of their daily agenda on labour issues and contractual relations. He has extensive experience in the field of mass redundancies and the winding up of companies. He represents clients in legal disputes concerning individual employment issues.

His practice also focuses on insurance law, especially legal protection of the interests of foreign insurance companies in Slovakia.

His multilingual skills mean he can provide legal advice in Slovak, German, English, Czech or Hungarian.

He is a member of the Slovak Bar Association and DACH Europäische Anwaltsvereinigung
